Hall & Wilcox acts on behalf of Australian Unity in partnering with Merricks Capital

Leading independent business law firm Hall & Wilcox has acted on behalf of Australian Unity in partnering with Merricks Capital for a $500 million portfolio of senior property loans including land subdivision, construction financing and bridging finance.

The partnership has developed from Australian Unity’s exceptional record and capacity to create deals in property debt and Merricks Capital’s network of offshore and local investors.

Hall & Wilcox provided assistance to Australian Unity in advising on and preparing the contractual documents for the arrangement. The team was led by financial services partner Harry New with special counsel John Bassilios and lawyer Avi Gordon.

Harry commented that “It was great to be involved in a transaction that brings together the respective strengths of Australian Unity in originating and managing  property finance deals and Merricks raising of capital. This partnering seems so natural and logical and we are sure that it will lead to much success.”
